
Getting Started
Review this checklist to make sure everything is OK.
1. Make sure you have the proper services from your local
telephone company:
•
Caller ID (or Caller ID with Name)
• Call Waiting
• Caller ID on Call Waiting (usually provided automatically for customers with caller ID
and call waiting services, but sometimes you have to ask for it.)
Note: Voicemail service is not required for your unit to func-
tion, but will allow your callers to leave a message for you if
you ignore the call while on-line or on another call. It takes
most local telephone companies a few days to activate these
services after you order them.
2. Make sure the unit is installed according to these instructions
3. Verify that your dial-up modem does not disable call-waiting
when it dials out. For mode on this, see section on Modem
Settings.
